What does a Dynamic Week Look Like?

Monday Group

This group meets every week (3:15pm – 6:15pm) and it comprises of severely disabled young people who are all P.M.L.D. This means that they have multiple, complex disabilities and medical needs. This group is very heavily staff intensive because of the high level of need of the youngsters attending. The staff has many tasks to perform including changing and feeding. Some of the youngsters suffer from epilepsy and drug treatment has to be administered by trained staff.

Although the group have many health difficulties – this does not mean they do not know how to have fun! They love sensory based activities, music and the group is always filled with laughter 🙂


Tuesday Juniors

This group meets every other Tuesday (3:15pm – 6:00pm) with children between the ages of 8 to 10 attending. It is usually the first chance that the children to have to socialise outside of the home. They meet to have fun, play, socialise and develop friendships. Basic skills of turn-taking, sharing and joining in is encouraged.


Tuesday Seniors

This group meets every other Tuesday (3:15pm – 6:00pm) with young people between the ages of 10 to 12 attending. This group is starting to develop more independent skills. Having fun, playing, socialising and developing friendships is still the focus, along with having more of a say on their groups activities.


Wednesday

This group meets every Wednesday (3:15pm – 7:00pm) for young people aged 12 and 15 years of age. They are a lively group with many and varied interests. The time is spent on a variety of activities such as going out in the community, and developing independent life skills whilst having a lot of fun! Money handling, road safety and personal safety is started to be explored in this group.


Thursday (Bradbury House)

This group meets every Thursday (3:15pm – 7:00pm) at Bradbury House for young people aged 16 to 19 years of age who are ready to start developing their independent skills further but still need additional support. Like Wednesday, they also take part in activities that will increase their skills and enable them to become more independent. Developing self-confidence and self-esteem along with emotional resilience is a priority for this group to ensure they are ready for their life beyond Dynamic.


Thursday (Rhosddu)

This group meets every Thursday (3:15pm – 7:00pm) at our Rhosddu premises for young people aged 16 to 19 years of age who have are ready to take the next step with their independence. Developing self-confidence and self-esteem along with emotional resilience is a priority for this group to ensure they are ready for their life beyond Dynamic.


Friday

This group meets every Friday (3:15pm – 6:45pm) for young people aged 13 to 19 years of age who have are ready to take the next step with their independence. They are a lively group with many and varied interests. The time is spent on a variety of activities such as going out in the community, and developing independent life skills whilst having a lot of fun! Money handling, road safety and personal safety is started to be explored in this group.


Saturday Seren

This group meets fortnightly on Saturdays for children between the ages of 8 to 10 years. It has the same remit as our Tuesday Juniors Group and the group is usually the first chance that the children to have to socialise outside of the home. They meet to have fun, play, socialise and develop friendships. Basic skills of turn-taking, sharing and joining in is encouraged.


Saturday Enfys

This group meets fortnightly on Saturdays for children between the ages of 8 to 10 years but for those who need a little less support. It has the same remit as our Tuesday Juniors Group and the group is usually the first chance that the children to have to socialise outside of the home. They meet to have fun, play, socialise and develop friendships. Basic skills of turn-taking, sharing and joining in is encouraged.
